This is a 20 hour certificate training in Thai Deep Tissue Massage
or also known as "Nerve Touch" Massage.

Janice Vitavec will be teaching this unique approach to Thai massage
which was developed by Master Lek Chaiya from Chaing Mai, Thailand.
Janice has been studying with "Mama Lek" for over 10 years and has
been co-teaching Basic and Advanced courses with her at Spirit Winds
for 5 years.

This is a Basic course which will provide you with a 1 1/2 hour
session which can be given to friends, family or clients.
Deep Tissue Thai massage is especially therapeutic as it addresses the
functioning of the joints at a deeper level. Nerve Touch or "Jap-Sen", as it is
called in the Thai language, applies a gentle twanging technique over nerves
and tendons for a deeper release allowing for increased flexibility and
restructuring of the musculoskeletal system. It is rejuvenating as well as relaxing
as it unblocks the energy flow through the body and provides relief
from pain and stress.

WHO CAN ATTEND:
For those who are interested in a 3-day Introductory training in Traditional Thai Massage. This style is called "Nerve Touch" Thai massage or is also known as "Jap-Sen". If you have no prior training in western massage or Thai massage you may take this course as a beginner and receive a certificate for 20 training hours which could get you started practicing Thai massage with friends and family or start your professional career training (depending on where you live there are different training requirements to be certified as practitioner or therapist). If you have prior training in Thai massage, Jap-Sen will be a new approach with some similar types of techniques and mostly quite different from what you have learned before.

LOCATION:
The training will be held in a beautiful retreat setting on Sylvan Lake (20 minutes outside of Red Deer, AB, half way between Edmonton and Calgary). It is called Camp Kannawin and will have very affordable (bunking) accommodations for only $20/night and full use of kitchen facilities. We will have use of the entire camp to ourselves for the 3 days, if you would like to bring family you are welcome to do so.
